Critical examination

Under the Ionising Radiations Regulations, a 'critical examination' must be carried out whenever there are radiation protection implications from the way in which radiological equipment and facilities are installed or significantly modified, ensuring it meets safety requirements. The installer or erector holds the legal responsibility for conducting the examination, but Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA) input is mandatory to assess radiation protection measures. Supanova provides support in performing and reviewing critical examinations, ensuring compliance and confirming that shielding, safety features, warning systems, and other protective measures are correctly implemented before use.
